The East Anglia THREE Public Rights of Way diversions

13/06/24

Work on the East Anglia THREE onshore cable route continues this summer.

As part of the preparation works for the High Voltage cable installation, our contractor will undertake an inspection of the pre-installed cable ducts to ensure they remain in good condition. In the event any remediation is needed, it may be necessary to temporarily close a public right of way (PROW) and implement a short diversion route while the duct repairs take place. East Anglia THREE is providing advanced notice of potential closures in line with our development consent - and will confirm following the inspections which, if any, closures and diversions will need to be implemented.

The PROWs which may be diverted are located in and around the parishes of Akenham, Little Bealings, Great Bealings, Martlesham, Waldringfield, Newbourne and Bramford. View a drawing showing the locations of the PROWs.

Our proposals for how the PROWs would be controlled during the works are included in appendix 7 of our Amendments to Approved Details Report: Duct Works document, which is currently under review by the local planning authority.

The document can be viewed on the local authority planning portal by searching for document DC/24/1719/DRR. The proposals are subject to approval and may change. It is proposed that once the site is established, the diversion would be removed and access along PROW would be controlled by a marshall. People using the PROW would have priority over the works.
